Something's wrong here: A Press Sheet with 12 panes @ 20 stamps each = 240 stamps @ $0.49 = $117.60 ... yet the USPS is allegedly selling them for $58.80 ?!?! -- that's half price!

An obvious error but it is still being listed on the USPS Store's website at this time:

I think the USPS fixed the problem this morning. I ordered some press sheets yesterday and let's see if they honor the discounted price.

Let us know how you make out with your order. The mere fact that it took the USPS more than two days to correct an obvious error is nothing short of incompetence on their part.

On an unrelated matter, today (02/27/2015) is the FDOI for the new Stars & Stripes Presorted Standard Stamp. No mention of it has yet hit the USPS Store's website (although I'm sure you can order the stamp by phone using the order numbers in USA Philatelic.)

Have encountered this problem with an incorrect press sheet price before. No, they won't honor the wrong price. They'll simply cancel the original transaction & bill you the correct price. I'm somewhat amazed though that it took them as long as it did to get it corrected. I'm sure a good number of people pointed out their error.

Yep, I'll be very surprised if the USPS honors that. Private businesses will often honor pricing errors, but I'll be shocked to see the day when a gov't entity does it. Businesses honor misquoted prices because they don't want to cause ill-will among customers and lose future business. The gov't doesn't have to worry about that. It's not like you can go across the street and buy another sheet for less than what the post office is selling it for.

Edited to add that they could end up shipping out at that price, but only if no one notices and it somehow slips out. Entirely possible since everything is so automated these days, and I really don't know what their shipping procedures are. However, once the error is spotted, there's no way they'll honor it. Since someone apparently spotted the error on the website, it's pretty likely that they'll be able to find orders placed against the incorrect price and cancel them. Given the small quantities of press sheets sold, I'm sure it can't be a big number.

I ordered 10 sheets from USPS Web Site at the "Discounted" price last week. I got a call from them this morning by acknowledging it is a mistake. If I want to keep the order, I have to pay the real price.

I'm not surprised.

However, the USPS staff time involved in calling every person ordering the item at the wrong price must come at a considerable cost. It seems to me the people responsible for their website maintenance should be held responsible for the error and at least credit the USPS for their poor service in applying the wrong price to the item in the first place.

In any case, it has become something of an embarrassment to the USPS to have had this happen in the first place.

SPECIAL NOTE: Has anyone noticed that even though the USPS Store's website now references the correct Press Sheet cost ($117.60), as of 03/02/2015 the USPS Stamps website still shows the incorrect Press Sheet cost of $58.80? Of course, it links you to the USPS Store's website which shows the correct cost ($117.60) but one would think that if the USPS updated one website, those changes would be made in all of their other websites as well. Apparently that's not the case:
