Late in 2012 I had written a letter to the Citizens Stamp Committee to do a Special Occasions Booklet or something similar to the 1987 (Scott 2267-74) issue but in a "forever" format. I never received a reply.

I submitted a reply a question (What you like to see on US Stamps that has not been done yet) listed here on the US Modern Stamps Mint and Used forum.

Now I see the "From Me to You" issue. Does anybody think my idea was similar?

Just wanting some opinions.

Thanks.

Doug

No; they went a different direction. "From Me To You" has a single stamp design with non-postage greeting stickers in the selvage. The 1987 issue incorporated multiple different greeting messages into multiple different stamp designs, which makes each stamp less versatile.

If I'm reading you right, your idea was that they reissue their idea (which, by definition, would now be a Forever, per current policy). I think they did something else.

My 2 cents, from me to you.

I think it is different.

I made a recommendation to the committee in December that I never received a reply to. I sent a second letter, that had to be signed for. That one got a reply. If they are not going to reply to each request received, why do they way they will?
