wert, I thank you for posting that. I only wish that it also discussed in numerical terms of how each variable affects a stamp's value.

I want to join the others in thanking you for posting this link - I have only recently started back in collecting after ~40 years away from it, and recognize only now how much I have to learn.

Grading of stamps seems to be one of those things that everyone does, but each does it differently, and lacking standardization that one can use as a benchmark.

That writeup goes a long way to helping eliminate some of the confusion.
