Revenuecollector is correct. According to my U.S. Specialized, R249 was not printed with blue serial numbers. They can be red or orange, with the orange (R249a) having a slightly higher catalogue value.

You keep mixing up REVENUECOLLECTOR, who started this thread, with REVCOLLECTOR, who is me and who made the comment about the R249. This is happened a few times recently :-)

Here are the stamps in question:

An R249 with sadly a cut cancel.

And the other one was an R160. Not as nice as an R159, but still catalogs $140 and is in decent shape. No cut cancel. This is the stamp that I thought I saw in the image that made me take a flyer on the lot. Made the purchase worthwhile.

Revenuecollector, so you own these items. What was the purpose of the original posting, some kind of test or just for fun.

I was wrong (does happen many times), in your original posting, how did you make the serial number 40037 appear to be blue?

Again, you were correct and I was incorrect!

Cheers

Dave

Just a fun exercise. I do those every now and then just to see how observant people are and totest their knowledge. I did not alter or "make" the serial numbers blue. That was the seller's original camera picture.

So guess I passed and failed your little observant test at the same time. The serial numbers sure did appear to be blue to me, guess my eyes are out of whack (a long with the rest of me).

How did I stack up again the other members?

Cheers

Dave

Revcollector, it was revenuecollector who said the serial numbers on R249 could not be blue. I don't think I've every mixed you two up. But maybe your post wasn't directed at me.
