Lucky Find And Purchase

Hi

Yesterday received a very lucky find, purchased a large lot of Commerce and Battleship Revenue Stamps, close to two thousand stamps, most with CDS Hand Stamped cancels.

True there is dupes in here, and condition issues, but still a real nice find, and the price was very good, all together less than two hundred dollars.

Its going to take some time to put them into date order, and the examine each one.

Hoards are loads of fun to go through just from a "thrill of the hunt" perspective and the unknown possibilities. I am still going through the two bulk revenue lots I purchased at CHICAGOPEX last November, and haven't gotten past the tip of the iceberg... other than pulling certain specific stamps to wholesale to some plating customers, I haven't even started on the big 12-volume hoard. Still working on the small one.

I pretty much don't do anything with battleships other than cancels I find aesthetically appealing, but the smaller lot has several stockbook pages of just battleships stacked many layers deep.
