Im Odocon 51 and so new to Stamp Collecting, That it's Funny.

I got into it by mistake, I buy Storage Units and low and behold a huge collection of stamps in one. (Almost threw them away) But after looking at a few and looking at some of the art, and seeing what they go for (Well Some of them) I just started collecting, Buying & Cataloging.

So Hello to you all, and I have a Crapload of questions (LOL)

Welcome odocon to a facinating hobby with so many areas of joy and sometimes
frustrating. My facination with stamps is the history that can be learned
from the stamps. I have several areas of collecting stamps and like pk_short
says, once that bug gets you, there it remains with you. I once had a break
of 4 - 5 years, but could not bear to let my collection go and after over
50 years now, I have been on and off the ball with stamps.

Hope you have a great time going through your find and there is always
someone in this huge world of stamps that will help with questions that
you will need answers too.

I am having a great time collecting these stamps, and yes a bug has bitten me, I just wish I would have started sooner, but hey now im going full bore into USA & Canada collecting, of course I've gotten into the RW series and state duck series, and also Back Of Book stuff, But the most fasinating is the trading stamps Like Blue Chip stamps etc, they may not be worth much, but I never new their was more kinds and reginal kinds of these stamps.

Being a collector for myself is not of the monotary gain. For me personally, i
have learned so much about the history of different countries just by collecting
the stamps. My favorite point of history is the United States. I find their history
absolutely amazing and think that it all started with the death of President J.F.
Kennedy. I was only 8 years old when this tradgedy happened, but for some reason
when I saw the static picture of the Library of the US and heard the spoken news,
it just amazed me that something like this could happen. That started my passion
of finding out more about US history and that then lead to my fist collecting of
stamps.

Even over the last few weeks since starting to collect overprints, I was
happy to discover towns of the US that I had never heard off. Now I am hooked into
that area of collecting the overprints, just for curiosity of finding the different
refference to newly discovered towns.
