Hello everyone! I recently
inherited my grandmother's stamp collection (a few years after the fact) and going through it and reliving the childhood memories of us pouring over our stamp collections together when I was younger made me catch the bug again.
I haven't touched my collection in about ten years, my old Liberty album was ruined in an apartment fire, but the stamps made it through ok. I mostly collected MNH commemoratives from 1930ish->1970s because thats all I had the budget for and I enjoyed looking at them and I also wished that I could afford some of the older classics. Well now i'm 35 and I still can't afford most of those older classic stamps but I can get a few of them! I'd like to collect India as well since I have visited a few times and loved it, but this doesn't seem to be a very popular country collection wise from what I can see on
ebay or Bidstart.
I just decided a few days ago to order a Scott National album, some mounts, and a US #1 and #2 to start off with a bang. I'm really looking forward to moving all of my old stamps over to the new album over the next week.
I'd like to keep my grandmother's collection intact since she spent decades of her life working on it and I truly appreciate that, but at the same time i'd like to honor her love for stamps by including some of them in my own album. I'm not sure how to reconcile that at this moment.
I look forward to learning from you all, this forum has been a valuable resource so far!
