I discovered this forum a couple of months ago and have posted a couple of questions that y'all have been so great in helping me with. For that, thank you to those that answered my posts.
I started collecting when I was a kid, then dropped it until sometime in the early 1980's. I stayed with it until a health issue caused me to stop in the early 1990's. Now that I'm retired, I've taken the hobby back up again. I have an extensive world collection (almost 25,000 stamps), with six volumes dedicated to mint unhinged world butterfly sets. I
inherited 4 huge Minkus Master Global Stamp Volumes from a good friend whose grandmother had passed away that has mostly mint stamps (hinged) from the 1920's through the 1960's. I
inherited another world volume from a friend whose wife had collected mostly German stamps (she was from Germany), but included stamps from other countries as well. I have several world stamp volumes going through the 1980's for both used and some mint stamps. I have most of the mint and used US stamps from the 1920's to present. Plus I have a mint sheet album with a number of 1950's sheets and current sheets, with a few from the 80's. I'm currently creating my own album pages for my mint and used stamps, which I really enjoy.
So, I guess you might call me an experienced collector, but there is so much that I don't know, I hesitate to call myself "experienced". Let's just say I'm not a novice. I love this forum and look forward to spending a lot of time here.
