JLLebbert's experiment under a black light (which I think is really what had to be done)

conclusive method of telling the difference between a fake "bluish paper" stamp and a real one except for appearance. The best way seems to be Bill's suggestion of comparison with a certified damaged one. Whatever was in that other thread about testing one under a black light was a red herring.
