JLLebbert's experiment under a black light (which I think is really what had to be done)

found no results. So we have no conclusive method of telling the difference between a fake "bluish paper" stamp and a real one except for appearance. The best way seems to be Bill's suggestion of comparison with a certified damaged one. Whatever was in that other thread about testing one under a black light was a red herring.

By sniffing around on ebay and bidStart, I can see it will take quite a search to find a certified bad one.
