I am going. Not sure what day(s) yet as I am making a family vacation out of it with my wife and 1 year old son. All plans revolve around the little guy.

Yes indeed! I will be there for parts of all four days, looking to buy Classic US material (when my wife ain't looking!) and taking in all the exhibits as part of a nice Anniversary weekend. I would certainly enjoy meeting anyone from this forum for a chat.

The host hotel does not have a shuttle from the airport. Does anyone know whether the APS will have a shuttle?

Any other members with Dealer Booths at the show? If you let me know where you are, I will make sure to stop by, say "hello!" and spend some money. You can either respond or drop me an email. Thanks! Enjoy the show!

I'll be attending. I will be manning The US Cancellation Club table for most of the show. I'm flying in from Myrtle Beach on Wednesday and staying at the show hotel. My flight arrives at 12:00 noon. Anyone want to share a cab?

I have a funny question for those who have been to previous shows and are familiar with how they operate. If I go to this year's show, I probably won't be getting in until around 6 PM on Friday which is when the show closes for the day. I have an interest in the Harmer-Schau auction which looks like it runs late into the evening. I am not preregistered so I will need to register when I get to the show, but if the show is officially closed for the day, will I be able to get in for the auction? I have sent an email to the APS folks running the show, but I assume that they are buried in show preparation so I'm not presuming a quick reply.

Thanks.

I would think if you are a registered bidder with Harmer-Schau that would be all that is required. You could go ahead and pre-register for the show. Maybe that would help a bit too.

Good point - I am a registered bidder with Harmer. However it appears that preregistration for the show itself is closed now.

I am not an official spokesperson for Harmer-Schau, but I have been around show auctions for a number of years. The pattern is pretty predictable.

Although Harmer-Schau has been given the green light by the APS to call its auction an "official show auction" the APS does not govern it. The room where the sale takes place is not inside the secured dealer bourse area, although the area for viewing lots prior to the sale may be. You will not have to prove show registration in order to bid in the auction. You will have to register with Harmer-Schau for a bidder number, but if you are already approved for that at Stamp Auction Network (SAN) then your registration will carry over. Just bring along your bidder number from SAN. Or forget about SAN and register again at the door when you show up for the sale. If you have never registered with them before, it would be good to have the names of two company references for your purchase history. Two major auction houses and you are in for sure.

These are business people.

according to the floor plan layout the sales area
IS inside the bourse venue.
It was also this way in Hartford, CT (last Harmer-Schau
auction at APS show)

Looks to me that the viewing ares will be adjacent to the bourse but the actual auction area will be just inside the doors. I'm sure the rest of the area will be off limits and secured.
