Disi, I think you are right that it is ink but my point is that the listing description needs to take any such negative ambiguities out of consideration for the buyer. You don't want them guessing as to whether it is a tear or not as they are deciding whether to bid. Most lookers will never ask the seller a question about something like this.

Rhett... you are, for the most part correct in that assumption...
I consider myself in the 'discerning collector' category, and
I've been disappointed on (more than one occasion) for not being
more scrutinizing... henceforth, I've learned to ask for additional
data, and in many, many cases ~ backscans not provided in listings...

By becoming so, I think I've returned maybe only 2-3 items to sellers
in the last 3 or so years...
