Now that Bill (Weiss) has announced his retirement where is the next best place to get top-shelf Expertising Service?

For "top shelf" U.S. stamp expertizing, I would recommend (in alphabetical order) the Philatelic Foundation (PF), Philatelic Stamp Authentication and Grading, Inc. (PSAG), and Professional Stamp Experts (PSE). I have used each of these services frequently over several years and have been satisfied with the results. These are also 3 of the 4 General Expertizing Services listed in the 2015 Scott U.S. Specialized Catalog (the fourth is APEX, the APS expertizing service, which I do not use since they do not grade and I only collect graded U.S.). My personal favorite is PSAG as I have found their customer service to be more personal than the other two I have used and that is important to me. But all 3 (PF,PSAG,PSE) are competent, quality services in my opinion.

It very much depends on what type of stamp one wants to have expertised who might be the best group to send it to.
