Which type of stamp do you prefer? The ones where you have to lick it of the ones you just peel off the paper. I have always loved the lick and stick ones myself.

Not sure if this fits the answer but the self adhesive if sending mail and the lick and stick if collecting MNH. I also collect the self adhesive as MNH. Never an easy answer is there? |

Personally, I like the "lick and stick" But , the American public strongly prefers "self sticking" stamps. Thus, self adhesive stamps are here to stay and the water activated gum stamps get relegated to the back of the house along with buggy whips. |

Do you mean which ones do we prefer to use for postage, or which ones do we prefer to collect? I'd give a different answer for each. |

Late to the poll. As a collector, I prefer to collect lick and stick stamps. As a user of US Postage stamps, I prefer the self adhesive stamps.
I have always felt that all definitives should be self-adhesive and all commemorative stamps and souvenir sheets should be gummed.
I think I read somewhere that you can't even print perforated gummed stamps anymore in the US, cause paper, gum and printing machines for this are in short supply. |

as a collector lick and stick is way better because I can get them off easily, I'm sure the PO likes self adheasive because we cant. |

The printing machines for both are identical. The difficulty is getting gummed paper these days (in the US). |

I prefer the Lick & Stick, but in order to continue with the hobby that we love - one must adapt.
