Fourth stamp down is number 11 because it does not have any inner line recut inside the right and left side frame lines. The pair is also number 11. The rest are all number 11A a because they have additional lines recut inside the left and right frame lines.
Hope this helps, Ray

The pair is from Plate 4. Nearly every stamp from Plate 4 has a faint left frameline along with a heavily recut bottom frameline. They are both Type I, Scott #11 as are all other stamps from Plate 4.

I like the third stamp down. Nice margins and sharp image.

I wonder if it's from plate 3? I have it plated as 25R3... but I've been on a losing streak lately.

Stampcrow I think you're back on a winning streak. I just started my plating endeavor on this issue a month or so ago, and I am certainly no expert. But I agree with your plating on this one. The shape and position of the guide dot are spot on; the right frame line is cut a little heavier next to the UR diamond block; and the curvature of the top frame line in the center, and the left frame line at bottom seem to match perfectly. Thanks goes out to you and others for all of your posts on the topic of plating the 10's and 11's. I have learned a lot reading your posts. I have already plated 29 varieties--that's just over 1%. Lol. Only 2571 to go. I'll be asking for help once I get a scanner and can post pics.

smittys,

Definitely no #10/10A in this group; all #11/11A. Your fifth stamp down is from plate 2L or 3, and has one line recut in the upper left triangle, and one line recut in the lower right triangle. The plate position is probably 61R3.
