I'm up to 28 of the plate positions. First one arrived today, and is 68R5:

Not a great stamp, but if you look on the lower left, the ornament "R", which is like a backwards "C" is complete, and isn't on Type V stamps, but in most Type Va stamps, is complete. The marks that ID'd this one are the blur in the dot after "U" in U.S., and the weaker blur in the "U".

Got this one a couple of weeks ago, and purchased it from Charles Di Como, who mentioned that it could be a Va....it is 2L5, and I noticed it right away-- top row, and I'm trying to complete the top row of all of the Type V and Va plates, and it has a large blur due to plate damage in the top left corner, that it shares with 1L5:

I love my 3c shades, but the 1c plating is really my favorite topic, and I can't recommend this stuff enough for those who are interested, but haven't dove in.....enjoy, Ray

I don't think your second stamp is from Plate 5. Must be from Plate 7 or 8...

Thanks for the sharing! Love the info, especially what you use for each stamp plating. Just curious, what plating projects are you trying to complete? You mentioned Top Row for all VA, V plates and that you have 28 positions for VA.
