I think that this effort epitomizes just how successful a community effort can be with plating endeavors. The guys have done a fantastic job in populating the database with great information and over 1400 high resolution images. This archive not only serves as a resource for platers, it also represents a great library of period cancels.
Yesterday I added a new 'graphical plate reconstruction' feature which allows users to avoid using the database interface and simply click on images of the reconstructed plates to 'drill down' to the high resolution stamp images. It looks like this…

There was also a request to be able to download all the high resolution images but I had no good solution for allowing users to easily download several gigabytes of images. Instead I have developed a DVD disk which allows you to view the plated images on your own computer. No connection to the internet required, no installation needed, simply place in your computer's DVD drive and start viewing in any browser. Details on the site.
