Achilles, sounds like a great show!
The plating initiative, as far as I know, is at a stand still. The page that I and others had been working on, isn't available. Don has a lesser page holding the spot. But we aren't able to edit and upload there. I'm waiting to hear from Don.

Currently my SQL database provider is still working through their issue, I spent an hour on the phone with them yesterday. If they do not have it resolved in the next few days I will move to another provider. The database is fine, as admin I can add/change whatever we need. What is broken is the ability to let you guys add/modify records yourselves. Please feel free to email me any images or content you want added for now. Art, I got your message and sent you a reply.

The Stamp Smarter 3c Plating Initiative is going very well folks! Thanks to all who've contributed.

There are now 193 plate positions illustrated for the "orange brown plates" (#10 and #10A), compared to 67 positions on Steven Ruecker's site.

If you haven't visited yet, look for the 3c Plating Initiative icon at the following link:

I think that this effort epitomizes just how successful a community effort can be with plating endeavors. The guys have done a fantastic job in populating the database with great information and over 1400 high resolution images. This archive not only serves as a resource for platers, it also represents a great library of period cancels.

Yesterday I added a new 'graphical plate reconstruction' feature which allows users to avoid using the database interface and simply click on images of the reconstructed plates to 'drill down' to the high resolution stamp images. It looks like this…

There was also a request to be able to download all the high resolution images but I had no good solution for allowing users to easily download several gigabytes of images. Instead I have developed a DVD disk which allows you to view the plated images on your own computer. No connection to the internet required, no installation needed, simply place in your computer's DVD drive and start viewing in any browser. Details on the site.

Thanks, Don! The new interactive is a pleasure to use!

I can't believe there are no images for plate 7 left! I'll see what I can scrounge up.

Alright! Thanks to whoever has been uploading plate 7 left images with me. We went from zero positions illustrated to 13 positions in two days!

Edit: Make that 14 positions . . .
