These are out of a collection that I won in an auction. I don't have catalogues yet for identifying them so I've been going on a few different on-line sites. I've seen stamps that look identical for very varied prices. Do I have higher value stamps here or are there differences that make the ones on the auction sites more valuable?

Hello ikandiggit....

Because of the number of possible varieties it is impossible for anyone to determine what you have from pictures. You really need to get a perf gauge and some watermark fluid to id most US defins from about 1900-1935/40.

Thanks nr-notrare. There's an annual stamp show coming up at the beginning of May. I'll have to stock up on equipment and supplies there. Thanks for the response!

Tom already made the most important point, but I would add that this lot is definitely worthy identifying. Care for them until you get the correct IDs.

Nice looking lot. Thanks for sharing,
KirkS

Great lot inkandiggit. I took me awhile but I caught on the the watermark and perf thing. I make sure I have lot's of time and that I'm not too tired cause it's a bit tidious especially if you have a lot of stamps to go through.

Hello ikandiggit,

Here is an excellent site to help identify some of the stamps you have.

It has been posted here on the forum before, but I'll post it again. It is very helpful to me.

Welcome to the forum,

Dave N.
