I got your email. Sorry I didn't post earlier but I have been busy for the past week planning our children's school curriculum for the next year and spent the weekend at a home school conference purchasing everything. Its a very stressful week and not much time for anything else, Anyway, I recieved the packet and I thank you and the scouts thank you!

Sorry again for the delay,
Richard

Ziggy, I started homeschooling last year, and its amazing the difference in my son. He went from going downhill fast to a 34 on his ACT! I am glad I did it, but wish I had done way sooner. He starts college in the fall, and for a time, we weren't sure if he was going to get through the tenth grade.

Is there a certain cirriculum you use? I am using a variety of resources, we started out with sonlight, but I've found better sucess without so much "structured" programs.

Hi stefanib,

We use a variety of sources for our children. All three use "math you see" at different levels.
Christopher, or oldest (11) would be going into 6th grade if he were in public school but is working at the 7th through 10th grade level depending on which subject. This year he will be working more independantly on several subjects, which will free my wife up to work more with the girls. For Language Arts and Bible Studies he will be using the "Switched on Schoolhouse" computer based courses. His science is a series put out by Apologia and his history if from the "light and the glory" series about Colonial America.

Kerin and Shania are working at 2nd and 1st grade levels, respectively. They are using "Learning Language Arts Through Literature" for English and Apologia for Science.

Richard
