Hi guys..As you know I am NO American stamp expert...I have scanned a Scott #896 (violet) to compare them against these 3 Scott #905's...The question is, are these 905's really 905,or are they really 905b's..?

Thanks, Robert.

Robert, I am no color expert either but these must be the ones I always see, the violet ones! Maybe someone can post a picture of both colors next to one another?

Go to the Philatelic Foundation search page and you'll see examples of what the colour looks like.

Search for "905b"

Thank you Glenn, but I was hoping somebody has one and can put both colors side by side. I do notice that the 905b is much lighter?

wert - Yours are all normal #905s. The #905b exist only pre-canceled from Los Angeles, California or Fremont, Ohio.
