Thank you peter I will get the stamp expertised ...its just that it costs alot of money for the service money I cant really afford to pay

Well, Shelly. If you are so convinced about its authenticity, then getting your stamp expertised will raise the value even further, getting you much more money when you sell it. (Easily paying for the cost of expertization.) That is the goal, right? Your various comments seems to indicate that you are lacking money and are looking for any way to make a buck. Well, here is your chance to prove this forum wrong. Please get it expertised and report back to us with a copy of the certificate. We love being proven wrong.

Good luck

No I am not looking for anyway to make a buck I have had this stamp for years ...what I said was I cant really afford to pay the amount it will cost to have such a rare stamp expertised.....and it would have been nice to have someone who knows something about the stamp to have a look at it ...but if the main reason is because a photo sent online is not the right shade then I guess I will have to send it in for a professional opinion.

You are sorely mistaken, my friend. If you do even ten minutes of internet research on the background of Clark, who has advised you here carefully and completely, you will find that he is an expert on this issue and his opinion is equivalent to what you would receive from the PF or APS if you paid for a cert. He expertizes Washington-Franklins and has taught APS courses about the process. His knowledge and the literature available to him for consultation on W-Fs are encylopaedic. He knows or has known other experts in the field. Even a brief review of his past posts on similar issues will show you the level of expert that you have had the privilege of hearing from. Bottom line, when Clark says it isn't a 596 based on particularized reasons, it just isn't. Period.

Shelly, which part of the post above did you not understand? Either put your money where your mouth is or just move on.

Wonder if karma will kick in? (That he will spend money on a cert and the Clark will be the one who does the cert.)

Ok, now you're just being a troll and I agree with the earlier post that this thread should be nuked.

1. You ask if your stamp could be the very rare 596
2. You are asked to provide a scan of the rear of the stamp.
3. You seem to be able to post a good scan of the front but somehow can't do the same for the back ?
4. You are given more information than required from people that have forgotten more about stamps than you will probably ever know.
5. Disagree with the experts.
6. Make dumb comment about the people that responded and wasted their time trying to teach you something.
7. State in one response that you will send it in for certification then in next response tell us you can't afford to send it in.

Why did you even start this thread ? If you can't handle the truth then stop asking questions.

I think we've reached an end to this discussion.

There's a question and several answers. I'm now locking the topic.
