While waiting for Starman to post a folded letter, I thought I post one I have. It was posted from my home town; York, PA, on May 25, 1847. Postage was 5 cents. Note on the edge that the sender has it dated it one day later. Maybe the PO didn't change the date on their stamp on a daily basis.
