I like some of the new United States stamps... but since they will not soak-off, I'll just collect them on First Day Covers!

...or you could collect covers as postal history for more of a challenge.

StamperDude:

I concur... but here's what's turning me off. I get letters from American friends who use current, modern, self-adhesive stamps that do not soak-off. I'd gladly clip them close and mount them in my U.S. album.

However, (and remember, these letters are from stamp collectors) the stamps are placed so close together, or on top of one part of the next stamp, that it makes the whole effort futile!

I understand. I try to space them apart when I remember.

David - even if they were spaced aprart correctly the USPS would destroy them with ink, marker, house paint or grease anyway.

David: stamps are placed so close together

I hate it when that happens. Last year, I received a package with two $4.85 stamps on it, but they were overlapped
