Hi everyone,
I have a shoe box full of stamps from the 1960's that I found in my grandmothers house after she died. Some are in mint condition and some are pretty beat up,but anyway I dont know anything about stamps and I wanted to know where I can find out if they have any value and who and where I might be able to sell them. I dont want to get taken advantage of and I would like to get someone a good deal. any help would be great. Thank you
Eddie

eddied2001,

Recommend to go to a public library and find Scott's Catalog for the USA. That will give you an idea of the value of the stamps. The '60's don't have alot of big value items, but they're a few good ones. I'd suggest that you consider passing it along to any children in your family, grade school aged and see if they take interest in it.
If there are items that seem strange (markings/cancels)or you can't fine in the catalog mentioned, just post them (Pic of the stamp)& we'll asseted you.

Good Luck
Mike

Congrats!
You can go to freestampcatalogue.com and check them out there--hit on US stamps and then start checking the dates by looking for your stamps--remmember that condition means more than you'll ever know--any bent corners, stains, creases, etc decrease the values-you might find that most of your stamps are pretty common but what a find!

Approach this endeavour very carefully, it is quite contagious. Realistically... have a ball.
