Bujutsu,
I believe it is the longest running primetime TV show bypassing Gunsmoke and The Flintstones.

The fuss over the Simpsons stamps reminds me of the roar that set up in Britain when the "Fun Fruit & Veg" stamps were released. Essentially, it was like turning the stamps into a Mr. Potato Head (for those who catch the reference), little face parts you could stick on to the fruits & vegetables. This article came out on GBStamps.com before the issue was even released:

I found an interview online with the designer of those stamps - note the quote, "hard-core philatelists are quite a conservative bunch". True, all too often. The article had more to do with his design of the Beatles set of stamps, but it's an interesting read, so I'll link to it as well.

Hi Stamperdude and All

Wow, I didn't know that the Simpson's bypassed the running time of Gunsmoke and the Flintstones. You learn something new everyday.

Regarding Ryan's message, I can remember those 'potatohead' stamps too. Funny how over the years the way the postal authorities change their stamp issuing policies. I guess our preferences chage over the years too because there was a time you never saw any cartoon stamps.

Happy collecting

All there is is change. Nothing stays the same forever.

My Zen moment of the day.

BTW, my son likes to play with Mr Potato Head. We even made a Mr. Pumpkin Head for Halloween. Less carving. LOL.
