Glad to hear you are safe, Lily. And glad that your are gaining some sense of safety and stability.

When I composed my message, I felt uncertain about the word "coup" -- I should have done a better job expressing myself. I actually considered using the word terrorism, but I didn't know if it was too strong. My local Congressman recently visited Sri Lanka at the request of its government. When he returned there were several people protesting at his office, saying he had been used by the Sri Lankans. The protestors were upset about the treatment of Tamil refugees in displacement camps.

Anyway, I'm glad you're safe and things are looking up.

Regards,
KirkS

Kirk:

There is a large Tamil diaspora in Toronto. They blocked streets and protested in Ottawa and Toronto. They are a Terrorist Organisation as declared by Canada, The U.S.A., the U.N., and 28 other countries.

Congratulations to Sri Lanks for winning their part of the war on terrorism.

Enough ranting... back to my stamps!

David

To David and Kirk,
Terrorism is the correct word when it comes to the LTTE. It's sad but those same protesters once lived in Sri Lanka and went as refugees to other countries and were protesting to keep a war going on that affected all the people in Sri Lanka, regardless of Tamil or sinhala or muslim while they were safe and warm in their new homes. They had women and children to protest for them which is a main tactic of the LTTE, be it when they were in the battle or sending suicide bombers. But now the war is ended, but terrorism may not still be ended anywhere. Its up to us who want to have peace and live as one to stop terrorism raising its ugly head isn't it? After all we live only once nothing is permanent and underneath the skin color and all other external factors of race ,religion we are all the same.

As David said Enough ranting... back to my stamps!
