thanks nr-notrare(TOM).I have just realized nr-notrare and tom are the same persons.I dont think it is necessary for you to send me a FREE perforation gauge becouse I dont simply take advantage on stranger or people which Im not really closed with.Anyway, thanks for offering me.Finally,I have figured out this block of stamp with the correct answer. It is certainly a perforation hole shifting freak, youre totally right. The top perforation hole shifting downward twist or two vertical hole below, the middle perforation hole shifted downward for a time or one vertical hole below and the bottom perforation hole did not shift downward at all or zero vertical holes below, remain back as normal position. This perforation shifting formula would be 2 to 1 to 0 shifting. It is also known as "ladder perforation shifting freak" if im not wrong.Im not sure if this ladder perforation shifting happen on any other stamp just exactly same like this, this is my last question over here and hopefully someone know anything about it and able to answer me.

I have one question for you. Are you in the hobby for the experience or are you in it for the money? If you are in it for the money you will be looking for a long time trying to find "IT". Most of the time you will find what you have is pretty common. Every once in a awhile you will find something special but not too valuable. If you are lucky every once in a blue moon you will come across something that is worth something. I hope you are in it for the experience because it is a great way to just relax and do something rewarding (for yourself). If you are in it for the money...good luck.

Miko...

A perforation shift is a very common thing.

It makes no difference what stamp it is on.

In the 1950's & 60's & 70's stamps with perforation shifts were thought of as just trash and were GIVEN AWAY to children. People who pay extra for perf shift stamps are buying damaged stamps.

ZhangCheng....

Comparing different stamps means nothing.....Wide perfing and narrow perfing are JUST FREAKS.......NOT ERRORS.......freaks do not have any real value.

The owner of those stamps can ask anything they want......it does not mean that perf shift stamps are worth anything.

Poor perfing just means that the person doing the perfing was not very good at it.

To zhangcheng,Im sure you cannot find this type or block of stamps exactly same like mine becouse I know that it is very rare with double perforation freak shifted(huge top and middle perforation shifted downward)plus each vertical side only has 15 perforation holes of every stamp and very much shorted in height.Beside that, his surname LI and YI of 1889 in chinese words were totally cut off by the perforation holes(top stamps).Obviously,I can see the men heads and chinese wording clearly showing on every stamp of the two scans you provided there, there are also 16 perforation holes on each vertical side of every stamp but not 15 perforation holes like mine.Is the owner crack or what asking CNY 180 for this two block of stamps(showing on second scan),they look normal to me just the left stamps with shorter teeth in the middle.By the way zhangcheng,Im a chinese guy too and who are this owners selling them with such a price?also how did you get this two scans? Are they your own friends?

To nr-notrare or tom, since you said perforations freaks are not erros but this are certainly varieties. It is becouse I have emailed this my scans to all the stamps specialists from sotheby and spink auction houses.Surprisingly, their comments are "this is an interesting varieties" but not "interesting freak" or whatever, that is mean this specialists in stamps for so many years treated this as varieties.Another thing is if it has no any real value, why some of this owners jacked up the price for more than 100 times and sold to some collectors since every single stamp only worth around CNY2.00 only from what I know.I would like to hear your comments please, tom.

"interesting variety"......does not mean it has value.

Perf freaks have no real value and have always been given away to children.

High prices are for fools who think freaks have value.

Fools who think freaks have value are buying damaged stamps.

Hello Miko,

I am not specialist, but I am a dealer, engaged in Chinese year set mainly.

I don't handle any old stamp of PRC,because of my ability is not enough to do that. And there are too many fake, and they are easy to make by modern technology,so you need buy or sell them prudently. And China will implement New Postal law on October 1,2009,regardless of what purpose to buy or sell fake will be chastised sharply.

I have watch your post of your collection,in view of my ability,I can not evaluate them. But if you come to Beijing, you can go to MaDian Stamp Market, there are many dealer with expert ability will help out you.

I wonder how did you get these stamps, and how much costs for them. You can E-mail me at chinastampway@hotmail.com

I am live in Tangshan city,200 kilometers away from Beijing.

I once met LiuJian at 7 years ago,the former vice-minister of Ministry of Agriculture,I do not know who is the ministry now.

Regards,
ZhangCheng
