Oi!

I am in my third cycle of stamp collecting. My main focus is U.S. stamps, including precancels and PNCs. I use the Scott U.S. specialized album and make my own pages for varieties not included in the album. I made my own PNC album based on Richard Nazar's catalog. My precancels are still in glassines.

I am also taking a tilt at collecting worldwide. For it I am using Steiner's albums. As I am printing the pages single-sided, I am "going to need a bigger bookcase".

I only collect used and I am limiting myself to 19th and 20th century.

Welcome dkabq8! They say the third time is a charm. Best of luck with your collection. I think it is great you are making your own album pages!

Welcome dkabq8,

Like you my main focus is USA stamps to fill my albums. I also like USA varieties and will add the Scott listed color varieties, perf varieties, and tagging varieties etc. I don't collect USA precancels, but I do collect PNC singles.
I also collect World Wide Airmail stamps (pre 1950 or so). I use Steiner pages for the W/W Airmails. I have an album that Saleem Kahn made quite a few years ago. I'm interested in your PNC album.

Perhaps you'll get into the trading mode here at some point in the future...

@oldtriguy1960:

I am not sure that a bunch of precancels in glassines counts as "collecting". :)

What kind of album is Saleem Kahn's? I have never heard of it. I used MS Powerpoint to create my PNC singles album.

I am always looking to trade. Unfortunately I don't have much trading material and what I do have is relatively common. That said, once I am able to participate in the trading forum will hit you up.

I am sure once I get my stuff in the next week or two any trading material I would have would be common too. Maybe once I get things sorted out some of us newer collectors can workout some trades for common stamps that the other(s) do not yet have? And once we get enough posts here too. I think I read you need 50 posts on the forum to trade.

It depends.
Some of us need at least 100 comments on the Forum to trade.

Lucky me

dkabq8,

Saleem Khan was another stamp collector that made his own homemade PNC album.

Although I have been collecting for quite a few years, there are still a bunch of common/minimum cat value items I need for my various collections. So trading is still a viable way for me to add to my collections.

So when you newbies get your minimum posts in, be sure to contact me.
