Hi, just thought I would introduce myself briefly. I'm from Aberdeen in Scotland. I've been collecting since I was around 8 on and off for around 22 years (yikes - does that give something away!?)
Looking to chat with like-minded people. I currently collect Great Britain with a particular fondness for machins, Australia (though a pretty sparse collection so far) and mint Bermuda which was my gran's old collection. I'm only just starting to get organised (though are we ever?!) with some new albums and pages so it's very exciting.
I'm very keen to get more young people collecting stamps!
See you around! Annette

Welcome Annette!
My main stamp interest is Russia to 1991, but I have a GB collection too - mostly all fine used (some mint and a few MNH) to 1952. I am trying to add all the plate variations - if they are affordable! My GB stamps are in a SG Windsor hingeless album 1840-1952 with black mounts - very nice!
Enjoy your collecting David |

Annette! Quote: I'm very keen to get more young people collecting stamps! That's excellent - we need more young people with your attitude Personnally I am bringing my kids to stamp live auctions and shows - unfortunately I can't see anyone else bringing their kids - or grandchildren. Good luck - enjoy your stampy time |

I'd love to go to a stamp event although not sure I would be able to find anyone to go with me.... I think I would feel a bit intimidated ! So many knowledgeable people, still you have to start somewhere! |

Among my grandfather's effects, there was a box of stamps. I recently got my hands on his coin collection, and got bit by the bug. I'm almost afraid to look at the stamps!
Anyway, I pecked around a little online, but I'm not seeing the wealth of information on stamps that I've found on coins. Can someone recommend a site or two to help me get started figuring out what I have? |

Hey! I have a sneaking suspicion we may be the same age; I'm thirty. Good to find another young woman collecting stamps!
I'm considering starting a Great Britain collection; I think I have maybe five GB stamps in a stockbook somewhere. :) I like how they differ from US stamps. I really want to start collecting New Zealand as it would be tangentially related to my Captain Cook FDCs.
Glad your here!
