Regarding the Wu-hu stamp, I placed it seperate from the China section because I don't think these are China's stamp. What are your opinions about it?

The Local Post Office is foreign Post Office set up in China,do not belong to China Post. However, they occurred in the Chinese territory, should belong to the scope of the postal history of China.

Katchem_ash, On the gutter issue it would require a specialized catalogue of the Czech Republic or Czechoslovakia to know for sure what stamp the gutters were attached too. Now we can assume that the Praga'88 was used on stamp or stamps that year only. The Park gutter would have been used in connection with a stamp or stamps also commemorating the establishment of the park.

Thanks for all your help Zhang and warrhouse.

Now one more question, if you don't mind, is there a catalogue or resource where cinderellas can be identified? I'd really like to know where the Knights and the 4 Birds come from.

Thanks to you all again!

Katchem_ash

On a rare visit to my Czech album I found this........

But there were 5 other issues which celebrated 'Praga '88', so it may not have been this one specifically.

The label in Picture 20 was most likely from the 1969 issue celebrating the 20th anniversary of Tatra National Park.

Londonbus1....I am trying, I really am !

Now I need some help with the Cindy's.

Tell me more about what is written on the 'Knight' stamp at top left and bottom right...or better still, a full on view would be better.
It has a Spanish feel to it.....even though I can't feel it !

The Birds 4 stamps are most likely seals. But can you tell me was is the symbol and or word/letters at the bottom left of each label, and what is the inscription outside the frame, also bottom left.
Or, better still, take a closer scan of that area if poss.

I know I am asking a lot, but that's life.........

Londonbus1.....Still trying

China has a highly interesting and diverse postal history with many geographical areas using postage stamps for their area only.

China can be split into Imperial, National & Red governments.
Then foriegn occupation zones, by France, UK, Japan, Russia & Germany. Foreign post offices France, Italy, UK, Russia, & USA, Tibet, Ili Republic, Black Flag Republic, Warlord cliques, Manchukuo, Territory issues, Currency regional ovpts, British Railway, Red 'Long March' locals, Treaty Posrts, Hong Kong, Macao, Formosa (Taiwan), Taiwan (Nat. Gov.), Manchurian local Postmaster Provisionals, amoung other groupings.

Londonbus1, That's exactly what I expected to see for the Praga'88. I'm assuming that the Czech government use them with many earlier issues in 1988 before the actual event.

Thanks

Mike,

The issue I showed was from 1987. There was an earlier issue in the same year with similar label [not sure of colour of text].
4 more issues followed in 1988 leading up to and including the exhibition.

Now I'm off to find some Tibet, and Shanghai locals.

Londonbus1.....Searchin'

My God I must be getting tired.
I have just seen the 4 bird labels close up by clicking on the image....why didn't I do that earlier ?
WpgLwr was right, they are from the NWF. The strange thing is [for me] that I did not recognize the logo. I have a number of NWF seals and none of them have the logo shown on the pic.

Something to look into me thinks.

Thank you all for your help! I'll get a better picture of the Knight and the Bird Stamps so that you all can help me. Is there a catalogue for cinderellas or not? It would be much easier if there was one.

Thanks for everybody's help! Now, if you don't mind, I've found a few more that I need help with :) I'm starting to keep these in more stockbooks that I bought on the weekend so more teasures might appear!

1) This is european, I'm quite sure, but with a mixture of french, english and what I assume an Eastern European language I'm not quite sure which country is this.

2) Based on what I was told in my last topic, I assume these are labels, but I'm not sure if they are from Denmark or another nordic countries. Are they red cross?

3) I assume this is Yugoslavian, but I'd rather get confirmation first

4) Now, I know Timbre is from French Speaking Countries, but the Cantonal I'm not sure about.

5) I assume this is another WWF label?

6) Is this Chinese?

7) I found another one of these labels! So they aren't one off, but there maybe more of them. This one also had the other words apart from the word "KNIGHT" missing. I really would like us or someone to start a catalouge of Cinderellas or Labels to help the collector out.
