We have many sayings, in Aus., to fit this situation, here are a couple.

"She is a sausage short of a barbie (barbeque)".
"She is a tile short of a roof".

OK, I've got one more, but it's a true story, so it will take the focus away from Dianne

Several years ago, I had a student in class who was sort of an odd duck. He wasn't dumb, but he thought on a different tangent than the rest of the class. One day he was absent for roll call, and a young lady in the class said, "some village was missing an idiot, so they kidnapped him."

I guess I shouldn't have laughed but I almost hit the floor.
