Has anyone found a cheap and useful means of storing all your stamp collection. I would like to have it all organized in on placed and portable, so that I might be able to carry to work and back and meetings. Something that would hold 5-6 albums/binders- places to store stamps and stamping accessories. I thought about a scrapbooking tote but not sure it would be a good buy, and hate to put out that much for any one thing. I also saw these big boxes they sell for collectors / dealers going to shows, but they appear to be rather cumbersome for a small collection. What do you use? ANy Ideas are good ideas, and I just may need to make one myself. Thanks! Jay

Jay......
I'd need a U-Hall to make mine portable.......most collectors don't even try to carry their whole collection. Maybe an album or two or a project......but not the whole thing. |

I use this brief case type suitcase, its about the size of 2 1/2 regular sized briefcase. It holds 4 large albums and a winnie the pooh babywipe container that I put my accessories in and two smaller containers with lids for my extra loose stamps and 1 large binder thats full of stamps that belong to my collection. That goes just about everywhere with me,I will not get bored some where unlike some people, hope this helps even if its just an idea you get from it |

Yeah, I'm far from having a collection of the size of many. Just trying to keep everything together so I can take my collection to work and work on it (Paramedic with time on my hands). Gotta be a cheap solution out there. I like Tina's but haven't been able to find a cheap briefcase. |

I believe the large briefcase that tina refers too is probably a "catalog case". They will hold a good bit of stuff but they are not cheap. Maybe if you are really, really patient you can find a bargain. There are also inexpensive tote bins available at '$1.00' stores or Wal-Mart. Another item I find handy for hauling albums, catalogs and other materfials to club meetings and shows are plastic milk/dairy cases. |
