Hello!
I am Risa. I inherited my father's stamp collection. He was an avid stamp collector for over 70 years. He was very involved in the Hollywood, Florida stamp club. The last couple of years when I was joining him at the stamp club, I became a member and was learning some tidbits on collecting. My dad was sharing information with me. However, I am trying to learn as much as I can, via the internet and catalogues. I have learned to read some of the symbols and abbreviations. There is so much. I am a true novice. His collection is huge. It is all foreign pre-1940. I also have a huge Israeli collection that is absolutely gorgeous. I love the history that revolves around the stamps. I do have a hard time giving this collection up. I am intrigued with it. If you can offer any advice, I would certainly appreciate it. Is it advisable to acquire information from the stamp club or are there other places to go for advice? Thanks in advance.
