More 1851-57 3 Cent Plating Woes

Not sure why I pulled a stamp, with the bottom trimmed and a crease, to plate. I guess I thought it would be easy. Not so...

I now have way to much time invested in this bit of paper. I initially thought it would be plate 2L. The closest match I can find is 43L2L.

I also searched plate 3. And also plate 5, although plate 5 stamp images are scarce.
I Hate to dump my troubles here... Well I guess that's not true, here's an image of my trouble stamp.

What's your best guess as to the color?

I think it's Brownish Carmine.
My camera doesn't reproduce colors very well. But it shows details better than my scanner.
The scanner usually does colors better.

Sadly, the truth of the color is probably somewhere between these two images.

This will remain in the TBD pile. It won't be lonely.
