I have this decent strip of 9s and I see some interesting marks on the back. Plating info? Can anyone interpret what's written there?

53-54-55 R1L

I checked the images on the 1c plating archive and I think the plating is correct.

I agree - I went through the Neinken drawings, and 53-54-55R1L looks good - the recut lines match well, and the 3-4-5R column spacing and vertical alignment agrees well with the strip.

Agree. The top recut line on 53R1L wanders above the original line over the P of POSTAGE as it does on the left stamp in this strip. Incidentally, I need positions 54 and 55R1L for my replating of Plate 1 Late...
