Hello, I've collected since 1968 and now am dedicating most of my time to collecting/trading and selling US Postal History and also have a large accumulation of stamps. I've recently been forced to retire due to health and now fill my time with my collections/accumulations. My specialty is collecting US U58 and U59 Postal Stationery and just recently got into Machine Cancels.

I'll start off with a question about a cover I found in my stash, which is pictured. A Boston 1897, Machine No.2 cancel with an unusual dial with a T. Is this an American Machine cancel?

Welcome to the stamp forum. You have a lot of stamping going on. How great is that.

I would put the cover question in the U.S. cover forum for more responses.

Yes, it's an American. And you're in luck - the Machine Cancel Society is meeting at PIPEX in Portland in May!

Great, I printed out my application for the Society earlier today and will be putting it in the mail tomorrow with payment. I am planning on attending PIPEX.

Thanks!

Mike
