Hello all,

New member and fairly new to philately full stop.

I have recently inherited my fathers collection and had always helped him when I was growing up. However, it is since the inheritance that I have become serious about collecting myself.

At this point, the areas I am actively collecting is Czechoslovakia, Israel and Australia. Predominately early era in each country.

I inherited near complete standard collections in each of these countries so was lacking some initial direction in what to do with it. I got some inspiration from the editor of the Czechoslovakian Society in England, he opened my eyes up to variations...!

I've started on variations/errors on the 1948 Doar Ivri issues. This alone has the potential to keep me busy for many many years to come, as I have since discovered and also keep me a very poor man.

I've also got myself a Pofis catalogue and I am looking into all the Czech variations from 1918-1939. Again, with all the plate flaws and variations in this period, it will keep me very very busy for years to come.

I've joined the forum as a place to learn from those with far greater knowledge than myself, I have no contemporary peers who collect so I need to reach out just that bit further onto the interwebs to learn...

Thanks for reading this far :)

Thanks for the welcome Renden, it's appreciated.

As for my beauties, this is my most recent addition:

1948 Doar Ivri issue - 3 Mil Sc#1 tab block.
It's the thin yellow paper type.
The tab types (from left to right) are 1,1AA.
It is MNH with a few light wrinkles and brownish staple mark on the tab, but otherwise near perfect.

And I love it!
