Are stamps bearing these names technically separate from Australia, which owns the islands? In which case should these stamps be placed in an album separately from Australia?
Yes, they are seperate, although you can use Australian stamps in those territories and you can use there stamps in Australia. They do have seperate listings in the Stanley Gibbon catalogue and I guess Scotts would be the same.
Thanks Steve - does this count for all stamps marked Cocos /Christmas Island? Or just certain years or what? (I don't actually have a catalogue, hence I'm asking all these questions)
