Two examples of a "sock on the nose" in red found days apart on ebay.

Note the difference in the development of the design at the upper left corner

Note the horizontal ink smearing at the top of the top stamp. And note the same issue with the two singles.

What plate and positions are these?

Douglas, the pair are 11R7 and 21R7. Just sitting here in a restaurant waiting for a late nite snack, and took a quick look.

I think top one is D relief ... ?78L7. Would like a better res scan.

Second is B relief? Need to work on more. Not sure can plate it with scan.

They are both quality stamps. Very nice!

Thank you to both of you.

I wish we did not have this 200kb file limit. The original scans are considerably larger at either 1200 or 2400dpi.

One of the stamps has some info penciled in on the rear which I shall post later.

Meanwhile I have found another Scott 24 with a red cancel that I shall add to to this post after it arrives.
