I,m going to start out saying yes I'm new at collecting stamps. And I'm looking forward to learning about them from all ya. My mom has given me her collection and I haven't a clue as to what they are worth. I don't thank I'm going to sell anyway. I'm just a collector of anything valuable. I'm into die-cast collectibles nascar's also. Anyway I guess I will be doing allot of research on them. I guess a price book for starts would help. Any idea where to find one. I like to shop with my forum friends.(I'm also on the coin forum) Thanks Shane
This is me 4Th of July BBQ

Welcome, Shane!

See if you can post a few pictures of your Mum's stamp collection and we can see what you've got.

Shane...Go to www.amospress.com and pick up a copy of Scott's 2009 U.S. Pocket Stamp Catalogue. This will get you started on seeing just what you have. Good luck,
Allan

Welcome Shane!

If your collection is USA stamps then the Scott catalog is the way to go, but you might want to consider a catalog from a year or two ago as you can get them for a lot less that the current year's edition. Of yourse you'll miss out on the most recent year's info.

Hi Shane and welcome to the forum. To start out you should check the Reference section of your local library. Almost all libraries carry Scott's catalogs. You can check them out for a couple of weeks to get you started.
