Mac, if you come across any other gaps in your Egypt, let me know. Still have some left. Laos too. Londonbus1 |

Since I broke away from U.S. only collection the World has opened up. You just do not know how bad I keep leaning towards locals and Cinderellas. Mind you now that I do pick up some irresistible ones though. Man I just got the stamp bug bad. Madagascar Malta Manchukuo Mauritania Monaco (used but great overprint surcharge) Mozambique Mozambique Company |

Very nice Londonbus. Well I do have a C1 Italy but it was already posted, still might throw it in back with the III's. Now as to what is the first airmail or is it the first official airmail. Or even the first flight airmail or say a plane or balloon. To clear this all up is a very informative read by Rick Miller. http://www.linns.com/howto/refreshe...rcourse.aspx |

Londonbus1, The Jupiter balloon in 1859 was the first usage of mail carried by an aircraft. No special stamps were issued for that flight. The Buffalo balloon launched in Tennessee after the Civil War would be the first to use an air mail stamp and is listed a a semi-offical issue.
