i thought it was my Grandmother...my Mom was born in Stenico 1916..that was the front line on the Italian/Austrian Dolomites front..changed back and forth often...my Grandparents..he served 1914-1918 in the Austrian army were ethnic Italians but were happy to be citizens of the Austria-Hungary empire..probably at least until 1914-1918 !

The size of those shells is no exaggeration I saw a war museum in Trento..the morters both sides used were huge and caused most of the casualties..firing from mountain to mountain...
