Well I've decided I don't have enough to collect. I have been considering a topical collection for US stamps, postmarks, and cachets that depict our National Parks. I have always liked the 1934 classic set and I recently watched most of the multipart 5 day documentary on my local WILL channel about the National Park Service. I've started to put together a quick list of stamps to include:

1934 Scott # 740-751, 757-765, 769-770
1966 Scott # 1314
1972 Scott # 1448-1454, C84
1999 Scott # C133-134
2000 Scott # C135-C138
200? Scott # Great Smokey Mts. $0.75
200? Scott # Redwood Forest $4.95
200? Scott # Old Faithful $17.50
2009 Scott # Grand Teton $0.98
Scott # Zion $0.79

Most of these I have in MNH format, a few I have on FDC's, and some I have used. Now comes the task of gathering them together as 1 collection.

You can always rent a climate controlled storage unit and move your collection in there! All you need is a TV, a little refrigerator and some eats!

Greg,
That would be the life. The only thing you forgot to mention was the computer with an internet connection so I can chat with my philatelic phriends.

Wait a minute, my house is climate controlled, I just don't have a room for just my stamps & collectibles.

The National Parks is a great series! I've always loved those stamps, have quite a few of them including the imperfs and a set of plate blocks. Good choice!

phil,
postcards would be a wonderful addition to the collection, especially used. I'll have to check on postal cards also. The recent Zion National Park stamp was commemorated with a couple pictorial postmarks this year that I requested.

jleverin,
Plus some of them are still easily found in dealer boxes of mint postage and on cover in dollar boxes.
