Hello ZhangCheng.....

These don't look like the Chinese characters/symbols that are found on stamps......is there a new system ? I've never seen anything like these anywhere.

It is unfortunate that I don't have Chinese characters on my computer, otherwise they would have come in loud and clear.

Thank you ZhangCheng for sharing. If I can figure out how to make it work on my computer I will share that here too.

If you wish you can install Asian languages on your computer (+200 MB) (Windows XP) (classic style menus) by going to Control Panel / Regional and Language Options / Languages and check the Asian box.

I haven't done this right now as I have many programs running. Tomorrow I will try it out, out of curiosity and see if I can see the Characters above in their proper form. And I will see what else happens too. If anything.

It would be good to be able to tell what something says on Chinese sites.

What is displayed above on most Western computers is scientific or Greek or Swedish or French or special characters in the 256 character library loaded on computers for numbers and letters.

I also printed it out. Not sure if I will actually ever need it, but it's always good to have as much information as possible.
Thanks for putting it up for us to see.

G'Day Zhang a lot of western computers don't us the Chinese (kanji in Japanese) glyphs so when you post them on the thread they don't mean anything readable, thanks for posting your readout from the screen it will help those who collect in that relevant area.

regards

ZhangCheng......

Great information.........most collectors never get to see anything like this, and seeing your screen capture has shown it in a form we can recognise. I have always wanted to learn more about Chinese stamps & covers but had no idea where to get information.

Thanks for posting this.
