I was shocked to win this strip of 4 in an auction last month at just one advance
over the minimum bid. There can't be more than a few strips like this around. No
faults except a few pre-printing paper wrinkles.

Here is a larger scan of the second stamp in the strip:

What a great find. Just one bid over the minimum, how fortunate you are.

For some reason George Washington looks mad in the fourth stamp. He probably doesn't like the paper wrinkle.

Fantastic multiple!!

Yes, despite what the auction houses and big players want you to believe, the economy IS having an effect. I've also been winning quite a few auctions at 1 increment above the openers/minimum. Reserve prices are more "fluid" than ever now.

I've actually run into a problem of winning so much last 2 months, that I may not have enough money to bid on one special lot that goes up for auction this month. I need more self-control!

Again, great piece!!

k

You bid what you are willing to pay for it. It's not your fault if others are not bidding.

Don't lose any sleep over it. The dealers are still making money.

Great win Tom

I have avoided ebay latetely but still seem to be accumuling stuff. Everytime I get the urge, I open the closet door to my office and look at the stamps that still need sorting.

Dianne, I can relate I bet 20 to 25 percent of my collection is still waiting in boxes to be sorted and mounted...my wife is a bad influence on me..she bids with guys on stampwants and then says "why dont you see if you need something from him..its 1.75 shipping no matter how many we win ????"

Great Revenue Tom.

Thanks for sharing but boy am I losing it. I have been watching your great posts with some of your wins. For some reason I kept thinking wow he must bid often to win a contest and get that one. Well duh! You are actually bidding. Now I know my mind has gone over the edge.
