Hello all you must have noticed that I haven't been on much lately, dealing with what life has dealt me is all.I really miss being able to log on at anytime of the day that I wanted to,not able to do that anymore. So with that said, onto what I'm thinking of doing,as alot of you know most of my stamps I inherited and are of no interest to what I want to collect, and in order to buy the stamps I want I need to sell what is not needed in my collection,I found it to hard to sell a little bit here little bit there,I'd like to just sell it as one lump, and I just don't know how to go about doing this,no clue on to ask how much,im just so confused any suggestions would be of great help to me

if you are looking to sell stamps separate them by country and used and mint and then list it here or sell it on ebay. if you need help with values get a scott or stanley gibbons and of course me and the rest of the gang are here to help you with any questions that you have

Hi Tina, I've missed your posts here.

Sorry to hear that you need to sell most of your collection.
I know you have too many stamps to price them all, so that makes it difficult. Not everybody is interested in whole world collections, so selling them off by the country might be the best thing. Maybe auction each country here in SCF. Put all the stamps of one country in one big pile, take a photo or two and post it in the auction section. Try one and see how it goes.

I hope you are going to keep the cartoon stamps, because I just bought some more for you.

Best wishes, my friend

Steve

Tina:

No need to stress yourself... stamp collectors often acquire more than they need, take out what they need, modify their collecting interests, and sell off the "stuff" they do not, nor no longer need. Its the way the hobby works.

You're doing well to focus on certain areas that appeal to you, and selling off what you do not need to get the things you do need.

Congratulations... you're a full-blown stamp collector.

Isn't it great?

Cheers!

David

Tina, started to read your post and said darn thought you might quit collecting. I have been setting aside a nice pile of flower theme stamps for you. Then kept reading and good for you, collect what you want the most. The pile is still growing so will email you very soon.

Know how you feel Tina. I've just recently cracked open again a collection I inherited and I'm currently deciding which stamps I want to keep in the long term as I narrow my interest from everything worldwide to a pre-1960 British Commonwealth/Canada collection. I'd go...country by country either by auction or a set price.

Oh lol, I know. I didn't mean that. I just meant the stamps you don't want. For instance, just going through my collection now...there's definitely some I want to part with. I'm just not interested in collecting most modern stamps (i.e. anything past 1960). I just need to decide what to do with said stamps now (whether it should be donation/sell/trade etc).
