I am not sure which recent French stamp you are referring to. When was it issued? Do you mean the sheetlet of 13 Marianne/stars stamps (+ 1 label)?

Ahhh, OK, now I know what you all are talking about: Asterix and Obelix.

Did France issue a newer one since 1999?

Being a odd ball collector I probably will try and find a sheet. But after looking at the one odd shaped stamp what really would be the practicality of putting it on a envelope. I mean look at the size of that one.
Great sheet Spock.

I like the details: some of these stamps are for both Gaule and France, and the long one is 0,56 euro but also LVI sesterces. Very much in style :)

Geeze, I guess I'd better get out more. Are these Homer Simpson's long lost relatives?

Are they ever cute.
Now I am going to have to get two sets. One for my France collection and one for my daughter who collects different cartoon type stamps.

I was having so much fun enjoying the characters that I just now (after my third time viewing) noticed that the mini-sheet is a Red Cross one also. . .

Euro 1.56 goes to the Red Cross France. Neat.

After some searching finally found my set for the oddball collection.

The Obelix stamp is one of the largest they have ever issued and the heaviest. It is coated in a ground stone dust.

Actually in the middle of a trade with another collector from France and he says there were already shortages. Probably will be fixed soon. He gave me a little info on the mini sheet.

Oh yes, and the Asterix sheet is set up as Tete-Beche pairs.
