The UPS man delivered the first of two lots of Israel from NYStamps this evening. WOW - I've got some work to do now. I just had time to quickly look through the hundreds of glassines full of stamps (most MH tabs), SSheets, booklets and covers.
At first glance, I'm quite pleased. I was also pleased with the quick shipment and delivery. It's supposed to be down to the sub-20 degrees late this week and over the weekend. I'm certainly not going out, so I should have time to make a good dent in the pile!
I have dealt with them a number of times. Every time I have been very satisfied! You just have to watch when they cat. their lots. They almost always use the price upgrades and their grading is quite lenient, at least with BOB material. But, there has been more than enough value to make up for it.
My only gripe with NYstamps is there statement "as received" and you see where they have removed the stamps from the album, but apart from that I've always enjoyed sorting through there parcels when I've won them off ebay.
There was nothing exotic about the material I bought and the grading was realistic. I can see how there might be a little different feeling on older/rarer issues where there is some wiggle room.
Greg, at some point we can xchange want lists.as you say..most of the Israel is not expensive..but we may be able to help another fill a few spaces...my Israel collecting ends at 1969..so I have a lot of newer stuff both mint and used..as far as I am concerned we could do strictly swap and keep a running tally..it wouldnt amount to many bucks catalog !!
