Hello all, I am sort of new to stamp collecting. I
inherited my grandparents' stamp and coin collection six years ago and I finally started to research it last year. My background is in history and museum studies but I am not very good at identifying stamps...yet.
My collection spans the years from 1890's to the 1970's. Most are US stamps. Several are Internal Revenue stamps, Airmail Stamps, and postage due stamps. Right now I think my favorites are a block of '27 Lindbergh Airmails and a 1909 Last Emperor of China stamp.
I believe the thing I love most about these stamps is the memories of traveling to the Lucky Penny coin & stamp store practically every day in the summer with my grandparents. Now I'm 40ish with kids of my own that are showing an interest in these stamps and coins as well. They are a great teaching tool.
I'm hoping to learn from all of you and thank you for allowing me into your community.
