The great thing about the SCF is that we have collectors with all kinds of budgets for their hobby...some folks have unbelievable collections and its a joy that we are able to view some of it here..not all things will appeal to all people..but at least we have the option to view !!

Boy, isn't that the truth! I imagine most of us would collect a lot wider and deeper if we had unlimited budgets.

If this thread refers to Rev-Man's sharing lately you are right on target Phil. I'll never own these and I may never have even gotten a look at them if he wasn't sharing with us!

I meant to mention longevity as well.

I can't imagine what sort of collection I might have now if I hadn't put it down for 20+ years while I was in college and the Navy and if what I did have had not disappeared during one of my moves across country.

I agree with you Phil...... there are items I get to see here that I'll never be able to own. I do try to keep to a budget for my stamps but it always seems to get stretched a little each month.

Same here Greg...... I can only imagine what my collection would look like if I hadn't had to put it away for most of the years I was in the Army.

Isn't that the beauty of it all? No 2 collections are the same. Even if 2 people purchase the same items, they will have subtle differences and therefore be unique. Just a few thoughts.

Laswabbie, It's not budget it's the thrill of the chase and a keen eye that keeps me going! Believe me I have let many pass due to budget! The only plus I have is that when I sold my orig. collection I kept my Tax Paids. I'm also very happy that my collection is bringing enjoyment to others as well! Enjoy!

Revstampman..you hit the mark again...it is the thrill of the chase..we chase a thing to the eventual end and then (i hope) we carefully put it away somewhere safe where we can find it again..signed phil the unfocused one !

I have misplaced and lost many things in my life. But, of all the things I've lost in my life I miss my mind the most!
