Hello From Space City USA

My name is Phil from Houston, and I collect or amass so many
different oddball things it sometimes even makes me shake my own
head.

Currently trying to remove scads of stamps from old delpidated
albums from ages past. Making my own stock pages like a few
I've bought in times past. Just about fed up with the album scenario.

Really like the environment here. Keep up the good work !

Gee, I was just confessing my own eclectic collecting interests to day at our Club meeting when he expressed concerns that he really was undecided about where to start or even if he wanted to start. He was feeling somewhat overwhelmed but hopefully we were able to ease his anxiety somewhat and explaining that the fun was in the journey and not an arrival at any particular place on the journey. Welcome. "Houston we (do not) have a problem." We have a new friend.

I've visited this board in the past months to update my brain info.
I loaned my old Scott master catalog out a few years ago, and
naturally it never returned home. I've been ill with the flu for
the last two weeks, so I decided to sort thru the "cuts" box that
has amassed for the last few years. I am currently about to pull my
hair out from sorting 1999/2000 US Flags, and Berries. Might just
put the box up beside the 5lbs of cut Eagles that I need to sort
thru some day, and go play with my revenues. The artwork is a lot
prettier.

I agree that the (well designed) engraved stamps are more pleasing to the eye.

Londonbus1 - Yes, my counties postal service seems to be enamored
with flags, but I prefer a well renderred piece of art over what
appears to be an hours work with Photoshop. I believe my son can
do better work than what I have seen being offerred by the US Postal
Service as commemoratives.

As far as reference material in print, all I have currently other than the web, is a spiral wound catalog put out by the US Postal
Service from 2005. Wife picked it up for me last time I had a
lengthy time from work. Very informative to that date, albeit limited
in the format offered.
